Ariella is turning 5 years old today. She had her first litter last year (2021) and after a longer maternity leave, I entered her to a few shows towards the end of last year.
She qualified to KUSA Dog Of The Year and was invited to the NAPC Top Dog competition at the beginning of 2022 and did so well in both that I decided to show her a bit more this year. And wow, she has come back showing her heart out, going from strength to strength embracing Type & Fit for function.

We were very excited and happy that Ariella qualified to the NAPC invitational Top Dog Competion 2020/2021.

The fact that she then went on to win Reserve Best Hound in Group was just amazing

After a long break from showing we went to Port Elizabeth with Mother and Daughter Ariella and Gilda. Both made us very proud!

30 May 2021, Ch Amberhall Ariella JM awarded Ridgeback of the Year 2020

Ariella was awarded the 2020 Rhodesian Ridgeback of the Year (showing), and won the prestigious Tau of Voortrekkerhoogte trophy, presented to the SARRC by Major Tom Hawley in 1967.

2 April 2021, Ariella and Baronessa are confirmed pregnant

Nature is nature - unpredictable. After last year's unsuccessful mating attempts we are now double happy to announce that both Ch. Amberhall Ariella JM and Ch. Danntrig Baronessa of Bomvuborg are pregnant by Ch Bridgevale Night Hawks.

The puppies are expected to be born around the 19th April and 30th April 2021.

On Saturday 4th May, Nutmeg delivered 13 puppies, 10 girls and 3 boys.

Unfortunately one puppy girl decided to get her angel wings shortly after birth but otherwise all good in the whelping box.

All puppies have ridges and minimal white markings.

We had a fantastic day on Sunday at the Junior Kennel Club of Gauteng Championship show.

CH. JM. Amberhall Ariella was awarded a CC, won Best of Breed (BOB) and then went on to win 1st place in the Hound Group (Best in Group) under judge Mrs Deborah Harbin (Australia).

10 September 2018 Nutmeg is now a Breed Champion

Very happy to announce our new Champion Inanda Mellberg Nutmeg by Bolt of Bomvuborg. Nutmeg is now 2 years and 10 months old and has developed into a beautiful girl. Still energetic and cheeky, very loving and full of beans, loves a good chest rub and always keen to chase anything small on four legs or with wings..

14-15 July 2018 Amberhall Ariella winning Best Junior in Show at Eastern Districs Championship shows

A wonderful weekend for Amberhall Ariella. She was awarded CC and Best Junior in group both days and on Sunday she won Best Junior in Show under judge Antoan Hlebarov (Bulgaria).

WHAT a weekend for Amberhall Ariella!

On Friday Ariella went Best Puppy (BP), got the CC and then went BOB under Mr Sebastian Guimeras, BIG and BPIS 3 under Mrs Maite Gonzalbo.

On Saturday she went BP with the CC, and was then BIG 2 under Mrs Lynne Brand.

And on Sunday, she went BP and got the CC under Mrs Pat de Coning.

Words cannot describe how proud and happy I am with Ariella.

10 January 2018 Nutmeg and Leo have become proud parents

Happy to announce:

Lady Nutmeg effortlessly delivered 12 puppies on Wednesday 10th January 2018,

The litter consists of 5 females and 7 males. The first puppy arrived at 9.30 in the morning and the last one at 19.40.

6 December 2017 Nutmeg is confirmed pregnant

On Wednesday afternoon I took Nutmeg to the vet and her pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasound. Nutmeg is 3.5 weeks pregnant and we are expecting puppies around the 14th January 2018.

awarded Best Baby Puppy in Show (BBPIS) and Reserve Best Baby Puppy in Show (RBBPIS)

Very happy with Amberhall Ariella at Durban & District Kennel Clubs Champion show in Durban, where she was awarded Best Baby Puppy in Show under judge and breed specialist Janet Wang.

On the following day, at the Natal Coast Champion Show, she was awarded Reserve Best Baby Puppy in Show under judge Karen Furk.

24 Sept 2017 Amberhall Ariella - The latest addition to our Ridgeback family

Amberhall Ariella, Born 24 June 2017, from Baronessa's first litter, picked my heart the moment she was born. She is a happy girl who is enjoying puppy school at the moment. Everything is fun and exciting, from chewing the Ouma rusk box to restling with the older Ridgebacks.

This morning I took Baronessa to the vet and her pregnancy was confirmed by ultrasound. Baronessa is 4 weeks pregnant now and we are expecting puppies around the 26th June.

9 April 2017 SARRC* Best Junior in Show

InandaMellberg Nutmeg by Bolt of Bomvuborg was awarded Best Junior in Show at the annual Championship Show held at Goldfields showgrounds in Johannesburg. The judge was Mrs Christine Sandford.
